Town Partners with LI Cares to Host Local Food Drive
Town of Oyster Bay Councilwoman Michele Johnson and Councilman Lou Imbroto today announced that the Town is partnering with Long Island Cares in a food drive to benefit those impacted by the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis. The drive will begin Monday, May 4th, with drop off locations available at Town Hall North, Town Hall South and the Town’s Public Works Facility. All locations are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

“In these difficult times, there are many who require assistance and depend on the generosity of their neighbors to help feed their families,” said Councilwoman Johnson. “Many local food banks are experiencing a depletion of their supplies, and we are proud to once again partner with LI Cares to collect donations for residents in need of help.”

Collection boxes, which will accept non-perishable items, including pet food, are available beginning Monday, May 4th. Those interested in supporting the pet food drive can place donated items in drop off boxes located in the following Town of Oyster Bay locations:

  • Department of Public Works – 150 Miller Place – Syosset
  • Town Hall North – 54 Audrey Avenue – Oyster Bay
  • Town Hall South – 977 Hicksville Road – Massapequa

“Our residents have always demonstrated their willingness to help a neighbor in need,” added Councilman Imbroto. “That kindness and generosity is needed now more than ever before as we face this public health crisis.”

Regular business hours for the locations are 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  For more information, visit www.licares.org or call the Town’s Public Information Office at (516) 624-6380.
