Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Hagedorn Little Village School in Massapequa recently announced that the 2018 Sleepy Hollow 5K Charity Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, October 28th at 9:30 a.m., beginning at Brady Park in Massapequa Park. The 3.1 mile course will wind through the heart of the Massapequas and funds raised from the event will go towards funding essential programs at the Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children.
“The Sleepy Hollow 5K Charity Run/Walk is a fantastic event that draws many enthusiastic participants and spectators who come together for a great cause to cheer each other on right to the finish line,” Supervisor Saladino said. “This run/walk helps raise funds for the Hagedorn Little Village School in Massapequa, which is an excellent institution that has for nearly 50 years provided some of the finest educational and therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities.”
For runners wishing to register for the event, the fee to register is $20 for pre-registration and $25 on the day of the race, which will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Brady Park, located on Lake Shore Drive in Massapequa Park. There will be cash awards for top male and female finishers in the open and masters categories, and medals will be awarded in each age category for top 3 finishers. First 500 registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and those who have pre-paid can pick up their bib numbers on Saturday, October 27th at Runner’s Edge, located at 242 Main Street in Farmingdale.
