Division of Federal and State Aid
The Department’s Division of Federal & State Aid takes an aggressive approach to seeking out federal and State grants to help fund various projects throughout the Town, thus alleviating the tax burden to Town homeowners. The Town has taken advantage of a variety of federal and State grants from sources such as the New York State Departments of State, Education, Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, Environmental Conservation, and Transportation, and the State Emergency Management Office. The funds are earmarked for a myriad of projects such as highway and road improvements, environmental preservation projects on the north and south shores, downtown revitalization, flood mitigation projects and records management. Coupled with State Revenue Sharing, the Town is obtaining significant money to help realize projects that benefit its residents.
