Town Offers Free Walk-up Moderna Vaccination Clinic to Residents in May

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board announced that the Town will offer free walk-up COVID vaccinations to residents on Tuesday, May 11th, at the Hicksville Community Center between the hours 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on both days. Vaccinations of the Moderna vaccine will be offered at the Hicksville Community Center, located at 28 West Carl Street in Hicksville. Follow up appointments for the required second dose of the Moderna vaccination will be made at that time.

“As many residents continue to roll up their sleeves and receive their vaccinations, we are pleased to be able to offer this convenience to our residents who may have not yet been successful in securing an appointment,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Located conveniently in the heart of our Town at the Hicksville Community Center, residents can just stop by and receive their first dose right on the spot.”

The Hicksville Community Center, which has served as a COVID Command Center for the Town since the onset of the pandemic, also recently began providing saliva-based testing to students, parents and faculty throughout the Town. Through a new partnership with ProPhase Labs, this new, non-invasive saliva-based, viral RT-PCR multiplex-test is 99.7 percent effective and results are provided within 24 hours. The tests are expected to be available to all Town residents in the coming weeks.

Prior to arrival, residents should fill out forms located at www.vaccinatetob.com. For more information, or with any questions regarding the walk-up vaccine services, email health@oysterbay-ny.gov
