Top 3 Patriotic Displays to Receive a Town Beach Pass
In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilwoman Laura Maier are inviting residents to showcase their patriotism and community pride by participating in the Town’s “Red, White & Blue” patriotic decorating initiative. As our nation prepares to commemorate 250 years of American independence, residents are encouraged to proudly display the colors of our country and honor the values that unite us as Americans.
“America’s 250th Anniversary is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to celebrate our nation’s remarkable history and the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Councilwoman Maier. “By decorating our homes and neighborhoods in red, white and blue, we can demonstrate our pride in our country, honor those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom and help inspire a renewed sense of unity and patriotism throughout our community.”
Residents are encouraged to decorate their homes with American flags, patriotic bunting, lights, banners, flowers, and other red, white and blue displays from July 1st through July 14th. The Town will also illuminate Town Hall in patriotic colors as a symbol of community pride and national spirit. Participants are invited to submit photos of their displays by emailing photos@oysterbay-ny.gov. Three winners will be selected from throughout the Town, who will receive a complimentary Town beach pass for the 2027 season.
“As we celebrate America 250, we are reminded that the strength of our nation has always come from its people and communities,” said Supervisor Saladino. “This initiative is about more than decorating homes – it’s about honoring our history, celebrating our shared values, supporting local businesses, and bringing neighbors together in a spirit of gratitude, unity and patriotism. We encourage everyone to join us in making our neighborhoods shine with red, white and blue as we celebrate this historic milestone in our nation’s story.”
