To help protect our local waterways, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board this week approved a partnership with Operation S.P.L.A.S.H. (Stop Polluting, Littering and Save Harbors) for use of a boat slip within John J. Burns Park for the 2026 boating season. Whether you enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, or simply spending time along the waterfront, this partnership ensures cleaner waterways and a better quality of life for residents across the South Shore.
“Residents deserve clean, healthy waterways they can enjoy with their families all summer long,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Operation S.P.L.A.S.H. plays an important role in protecting our shoreline, improving water quality, and preserving the natural beauty that makes the South Shore such a special place to live and visit.”
This partnership supports volunteer captains and crews who work to remove debris and keep waterways, harbors, marshlands, and bays in and around Massapequa cleaner and safer for residents.
Operation S.P.L.A.S.H. is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Long Island’s South Shore environment through shoreline cleanups, public education, and partnerships that improve local water quality.
