Saladino Reminds Residents of Upcoming Hazardous Materials Collection Program September 25th

Oyster Bay Supervisor Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino reminds residents that the Town will host a S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) Collection Program on Saturday, September 25th, from 9am to 4pm at the Old Bethpage Solid Waste Disposal Complex, located at 101 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road. At this program, homeowners will be able to dispose of hazardous household and electronic wastes.

“To protect the environment and ensure the proper disposal of common household and electronic wastes, the Town offers S.T.O.P. collection programs throughout the year,” said Supervisor Saladino.  “The Town’s S.T.O.P. program provides a great opportunity for our residents to safely dispose of items such as paint, old batteries, various oils and fluids, and other items that should not be thrown into the regular waste stream.”

All visitors must remain in their vehicles at all times and all household waste to be disposed must be placed in the rear/trunk of vehicles.  A program worker will assist with removing all materials from the back of the vehicle. Residents can view a full list of items accepted at the program on the Town’s website by visiting www.oysterbaytown.com/cleanup. The S.T.O.P. Collection Program is offered at the Town Solid Waste Disposal Complex, located at 101 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The final S.T.O.P. collection date for the year after this event will be October 24th.
