Saladino Announces 2nd Cruise Thru Food Drop Collection Drive for July 11th
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board today announced that the Town will once again partner with Island Harvest Food Bank and Car Show Long Island to host a special food drive called the “Cruise Thru Food Drop” on Saturday, July 11th (rain date of July 12th), at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa. The food drive will run from 9am to 2pm and benefit our neighbors in need during this public health crisis, with the donations going to help and restock local food banks throughout Long Island.

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino stated, “With layoffs and furloughs impacting many families during this COVID19 public health crisis, the Town Board and I found it critical to support local food banks with collection drives.  In May, our Cruise Thru Food Drop collected over 18,000lbs of non-perishable food items for families and seniors across Long Island.  We ask residents to once against open their hearts and cupboards to help those in need of food assistance.  Please visit us on Saturday, July 11th at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa.  Together, we can and will end hunger on Long Island.”

The Town, Island Harvest, and Car Show LI are asking residents to assist by providing the necessities to their neighbors in need during this public health crisis through donating non-perishable food items and/or pet food at this event. Show cars and non-show cars alike are welcomed, and proper social distancing guidelines will be followed throughout the course of the event while collecting food donations.  The event is sponsored by MSG Networks, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, WBLI and WBAB.
