Councilman Hand Announces New Youth Tennis Program this Summer in Farmingdale

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Tom Hand announced that the Town of Oyster Bay will offer a youth tennis program at Ellsworth Allen Park in Farmingdale throughout the summer, beginning on Monday, July 15th. The youth tennis program will be open to boys and girls ages 5-8 year olds.

 

“The Town’s new youth tennis program is a great opportunity for children to learn the fundamentals of the fantastic sport of tennis from some of the area’s finest coaches,” Councilman Hand said. “No prior tennis experience is necessary to participate in the summer program, so I encourage those interested to register, and take advantage of this opportunity to expose your children to a new sport, and potentially discover a new passion for the sport!”

 

The Summer 2019 Youth Tennis Program is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of tennis in a structured setting, as well as help improve individual skills. No prior experience is necessary, but participants must bring their own rackets (all other equipment will be provided.) Registration for this program will begin on Monday, July 1st from 5:30pm-8:30pm and will take place at Ellsworth Allen Park, located at 45 Motor Ave in Farmingdale. After this date, registration will be walk in only at Town Hall South in Massapequa.

 

Clinics will take place on the following schedule, with clinics lasting for 7 weeks:

  • Mondays beginning July 15th at Allen Park, Farmingdale – clinic for 5-6 year olds will take from 6pm-6:50pm, with the clinic for 7-8 year olds following at 7pm-7:50pm.

  • Wednesdays beginning July 16th at Allen Park, Farmingdale – clinic for 5-6 year olds will take from 6pm-6:50pm, with the clinic for 7-8 year olds following at 7pm-7:50pm.

 

Registration for the 7 week youth tennis program will cost $60 for residents and $75 for non-residents. Program will take place weather permitting, and if a class is cancelled, make-up day(s) will be attempted to be scheduled. For more information and to register, call (516) 797-4125 x. 2.
