Code Enforcement Bureau is charged with the enforcement of all codes, rules and regulations pertaining to zoning, housing and public safety. It is expressly designed to handle requests of citizens regarding possible violations.

All complaints will remain confidential, but in the event of a criminal proceeding, subject to Article 245 of the New York State Criminal Procedure Law (adopted by the New York State Legislature and signed into law by the New York State Governor, effective January 1, 2020), your information will be disclosed as part of the New York State mandated legal process.


NOTE: If you wish to file a request for investigation, please do so together with proof of identity in the form of either a copy of your driver’s license, utility bill, or have your signature notarized before you send the form to the Code Enforcement Bureau.

Abandoned Property – Zombie Home Program

The Oyster Bay Town Board believes in safeguarding property values and your suburban quality of life. The Town of Oyster Bay is one of the few municipalities with an active and successful Abandoned Property – Zombie Homes Program that seeks to remove eyesores from our community.
