Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Vicki Walsh today announced that the Department of Community and Youth Services, Cultural and Performing Arts Division (CAPA) will be once again offering exciting cultural enrichment programs for the fall 2022 season, and registration for all applications is now open.
“I am pleased to announce that the Town’s Cultural Enrichment Program will return once again this fall, as these enrichment programs offer residents the opportunity to develop a new skill while having fun in the process,” Councilwoman Walsh said. “Whether you’re an emerging artist or a resident looking for a new hobby, these classes offer a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons, and provide not only education but enjoyment as well.”
Classes will be held at either the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, located at 7800 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury or the North Massapequa Community Center, located at 214 N. Albany Avenue in North Massapequa depending on the workshop. Classes fill up quickly and are available on a first come, first served basis. - Watercolor Painting I – 10 weekly sessions on Mondays, 9:30am-12:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 12th.
- Watercolor Painting II – 10 weekly sessions on Mondays, 12:30pm-3:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 12th.
- Oil Painting I (Beginners) – 10 weekly sessions on Tuesdays, 9:30am-12:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 13th.
- Oil Painting II (Intermediate) – 10 weekly sessions on Tuesdays, 12:30pm-3:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 13th.
- Drawing Fundamentals – 10 weekly sessions on Wednesdays, 9:30am-12:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 14th.
- Sumi-e Painting – 10 weekly sessions on Thursdays, 10:30am-1:00pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 15th.
- Painting with Acrylics – 10 weekly sessions on Fridays from 10:00am-12:30pm at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, beginning on September 16th.
- *NEW* Chunky Hand Knit Blanket – Choice of two workshops held on Thursday, November 17th from 7:00pm-9:00pm OR Monday, November 28th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the North Massapequa Community Center.
