Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Steve Labriola today announced an upcoming ‘Senior Citizen Day’ Event offered by the Department of Community and Youth Services (CYS) at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park. Line dancing, music, games and refreshments are just some of the activities seniors can enjoy at this new fun, free event that will take place on Thursday, August 19th. Registration must be completed in advance for those who wish to attend.
“My administration has always put our seniors first and I am proud that we can host events for our senior residents to participate in these free activities, where they can enjoy the company of others, make new friends, and stay active and engaged,” Supervisor Saladino said.
The following programs will be offered as part of 2021 Senior Day on August 19th:
- Line Dancing with Fran- 10:00 a.m.
- Music with John Walters- 11:15 a.m.
- St. Francis Outreach Van- 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“Senior Day 2021 promises to be a popular new event here in the Town, and will offer our seniors a chance to experience all of the senior summer activities we have to offer, all in one convenient location, in a single day,” said Councilman Labriola. “I encourage all those interested in our programs to come out and enjoy a fun day of cards, games, rummikub, dancing, and refreshments.”
In addition to the recreational activities, St. Francis will have an Outreach Van on hand at the event from 10am-2pm, offering seniors in attendance the chance to utilize their services.
