Pre-registration for the 2025 Summer Recreation Program can be accessed at oysterbaytown.com/portal. All pre-registration materials are due by Friday, March 21, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. Anyone with questions regarding their registration is asked to call the Recreation Division at (516) 797-7945.
This year’s Summer Recreation Program will be a Full Day program only, taking place at Ellsworth W. Allen Park in Farmingdale, Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa, Plainview Old Bethpage Community Park in Plainview, Syosset Woodbury Community Park in Woodbury and Harry Tappen Beach & Park in Glenwood Landing. Space is limited at each facility. The program runs Monday, June 30th through Friday, August 8th, 2025.
Registration Information
How to pre-register (note: pre-registration does not guarantee a spot in this year’s Summer Recreation Program. Parents will need to perform final registration this spring)
1. Parents/Guardians will visit www.oysterbaytown.com/portal and log in to their account or create a new account. If your child was registered in the 2024 Summer Recreation program, you already have an account.
2. After logging in, select My Account, then Household & Member. Confirm all family members are listed. If needed, select Add Family Member at the bottom of the page to add a child or guardian to the household. Next, select Add Emergency Contact, and fill in the required information (name and phone number) Select SAVE.
3. Select DOCUMENT UPLOAD from the Portal menu. Each document must be uploaded as separate files. Please make sure scanned documents are legible.
Required Documents: Proof of Residency (Tax Bill or Utility Bill), Child’s Birth Certificate Child’s Immunization Records, Child’s Recent Physical.
After each upload, scroll back to the top of the page where you will see green highlighted text: “Document successfully uploaded.” The upload form will refresh after every upload.
4. Upload your Proof of Residency. Select ‘Link to Household’ as your upload option. Select the type of document you are uploading (tax bill, utility bill), choose the file to be uploaded and select Upload.
5. Upload your Child’s Birth Certificate. Select your Child’s name from the drop down under Upload Option. Select Birth Certificate as the document you are uploading, choose the file to be uploaded and select Upload.
6. Upload your Child’s Immunization Records if applying for full time camp. Select your Child’s name from the drop down under Upload Option. Select Immunization as the document you are uploading, choose the file to be uploaded and select Upload.
7. Upload your Child’s Physical if applying for full time camp. Select your Child’s name from the drop down under Upload Option. Select Physical as the document you are uploading, choose the file to be uploaded and select Upload.
Repeat steps 5 through 7 for each child you plan to enroll.
8. After ALL documentation has been uploaded, select the link ‘Finalize Pre-Registration for Summer Recreation’ at the top of the page. Your email and name will prepopulate based on your account. Select the children you are requesting to preregister, then select whether you plan to enroll your child in a full day or traditional program. Select SUBMIT.
Your documentation has now been submitted and will be reviewed by the Recreation office. An email will be sent regarding your approval status. Again, pre-registration approval does not guarantee your child a spot in the program. Parents are still required to register online in the spring.
There will be a maximum capacity for each location:
- Plainview Old Bethpage Park- 230 participants
- Marjorie R. Post Park- 500 participants
- Syosset Woodbury Park- 500 participants
- Allen Park- 300 participants
- Tappen Beach- 250 participants
Refund Policies
Refunds are prorated and subject to a 10% administrative fee through Friday, July 11, 2025.
*There are no refunds available for any special days taking place in the park such as events or food days.
**Refunds for field trips will only be given IF there is a waitlist and we are able to add another participant into the vacant spot.

Special Activities Include:
– Food Days – Optional Day Trips – In-Park events – Library time – Islanders Fan Fest – TOBAY Games (compete in various field games at your location) -TOBAY Games – Supervisor’s Championships (held at Allen Park) – Teddy Bear Clinic hosted by Northwell Health (teaching children emergency first aid using stuff animals) – Carnival Day –
Rain Policy:
If raining prior to the start of camp day, camp will be cancelled for the AM session. Weather permitting, camp will resume for the afternoon pending notification by email, social media post, and The Remind Text app. If rain begins during camp session, weather forecast will be evaluated and you may be asked to pick up your child if conditions are not to improve.
**ALL campers must provide a current physical, immunization form, birth certificate, and proof of residency. In addition, campers will be required to participate in a swim evaluation in order to utilize pool facilities (excluding Allen Park.)**
NY State Sanitary Code Subpart 7-2 requires camp operators to provide parents with any enrollment application forms the rights and responsibilities of camp operators: 1) To inform you and the local health department if your child is involved in any serious injury, illness or abuse incident 2) To screen the background and qualifications of all staff 3) To train staff about their duties 4) To provide supervision during hours of operation for day camps 5) To maintain all camp physical facilities in a safe and sanitary condition 6) To provide safe and wholesome meals 7) To have and follow required written plans for camp safety, health and fire safety. The Summer Recreation Program is permitted to operate by the Nassau County Department of Health, who is required to inspect our camp twice a year – the inspection reports are filed at 200 County Seat Drive, Mineola, NY 11501.
