Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board today announce a Remembrance Ceremony for the victims of the September 11, 2001 Attacks on America on Thursday, September 5th, beginning at 7 p.m. at TOBAY Beach. Additionally, at the ceremony, the Town will unveil the 9/11 Walls of Honor in memory of those with a connection to the Town who tragically lost their lives to 9/11-related cancer and illnesses. The Town Board invites all residents, families and friends to attend.

 

The Town’s 9/11 Memorial is inscribed with the names of residents lost on September 11, 2001. The Memorial features a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center. The September 5th ceremony includes a candlelight vigil, vocal performances, bagpipe music and religious readings. In addition, the names of those lost, who are inscribed on the wall, will be read and the new 9/11 Walls of Honor memorial will be unveiled along with a reading of the names of those featured on the Walls.
