Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today announced that residents looking for fun activities to fill their week of winter recess need look no further than their own backyards. Beginning Saturday, February 16th, through Sunday, February 24th, the Town of Oyster Bay has fun-filled activities and events for residents of all ages.
Supervisor Saladino stated, “During Presidents’ week when most schools are closed, the Town’s Ice Rinks offer a special schedule with public sessions to accommodate our residents looking to enjoy ice time. Children can also enjoy Magical Music & More performances during the February break, and the Town’s Distinguished Artists Concert Series offers residents of all ages a free day of musical enjoyment.”
Ice Skating – Indoor & Outdoor
Town rinks are located at Bethpage Community Park (the indoor Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center), Marjorie Post Park (outdoor) and Syosset-Woodbury Park (outdoor). The outdoor rink season ends on February 24th. Available times range from 10am to 10pm to accommodate all residents’ schedules. Free Children’s Magical Music & More Performances
Youngsters can enjoy two free Children’s Magical Music & More performances. On Monday February 18th, The National Circus Project will appear at the Bethpage Public Library at 2pm. On Sunday, February 24th, Lena and the Happy Clam Band will perform at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library at 3pm. Free Distinguished Artists Concert Series
The Town will also offer two Distinguished Artists concerts during the recess as part of its February series. On Sunday, February 17th, Gino DiNapoli will perform Italian and American songs at the Massapequa Public Library at 1pm. On Sunday, February 24th at 2pm, the Jericho Public Library welcomes Rave On! – the music of Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and other Rock n’ Roll legends.
