Youth Ice Hockey Spring Program

The Town of Oyster Bay’s Youth Ice Hockey Program is a recreational and instructional program designed to give the youngsters of our Town a way to learn the correct fundamentals of one of America’s most popular sports. Open to children ages 3-13, this program is offered at three separate locations throughout the Town. In addition to receiving instruction on the proper techniques of skating, stickhandling, and shooting, participants will make new friends and create lifelong memories.

Summer Pond Hockey
This program is a whole lot of fun for hockey players who love the game. Based on the concept of pond hockey, new teams are chosen for each session. Participants show up at the “pond” and teams are chosen. Participants have the chance to play with and against each other throughout the program. It’s a great way for players to keep their hockey skills sharp between seasons while also enjoying hockey in a fun-filled setting.

Youth Dynamites & Mini Mites Summer Skills Development
This program is designed to enhance the skills of young players during the summer months. Dynamites (ages 3-5) participate in eight weekly sessions that develop all hockey skills. Mini mites are introduced to cross ice games. This program has eight weekly sessions.

Preseason Tune-up Clinics
Prior to the start of the hockey season, tune-up clinics are offered that help players gain conditioning while helping to sharpen their hockey skills for the upcoming season.

Friendship Games
Players from the Town of Oyster Bay Hockey Program participate in TOB Friendship Games against other youth hockey programs. The games are held at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center as well as other participating host rinks, giving the players the experience of playing both “home” and “away” games in a friendly setting.
