The second week of the 2017 Town of Oyster Bay “Music Under the Stars” concert series kicks off with the Town’s annual “Salute to America” veterans appreciation night featuring a performance by country/classic rock band “SouthBound”, at John J. Burns Town Park, Merrick Road, Massapequa, on Tuesday, July 11, according to Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
“SouthBound is a versatile band that has been entertaining the Tristate area for over 20 years,” Supervisor Saladino said. “SouthBound delivers a top notch performance that moves audiences to get up and dance as well as sing along.”
The second week of “Music Under the Stars” continues with “BonJourney NY” which will be held at Harry Tappen Beach located at Shore Road in Glenwood Landing on Wednesday, July 12, according to Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
“BonJourney NY is a unique tribute band that blends music from rock icons Bon Jovi and Journey,” Supervisor Saladino said. “Their high energy and spirit are sure to entertain residents.”
Prepare for a trip to the 60s & 70s by a performance from “Groovin” on July 15, Syosset-Woodbury Community Park located at 7800 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury.
“Those in attendance are sure to get a kick out of the psychedelic 60’s and 70’s musical journey ‘GROOVIN’ will create,” Supervisor Saladino said. “’GROOVIN’ re-creates the most popular legends from the 60s & 70s along with their songs in a presentation that it sure to make for an unforgettable night.”
The Supervisor noted that SouthBound’s “Salute to America” performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. All other performances are scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
