The Town of Oyster Bay Department of Environmental Resources recently hosted a public scoping session on Monday, June 20, at Town Hall in Oyster Bay. According to Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano, the purpose of this scoping session was to allow residents the opportunity to provide input on the topics and information to be included in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) which the applicant will prepare on the proposed Syosset Park mixed use development, located on the north side of the Long Island Expressway in Syosset, just east of Robbins Lane.
Councilman Coschignano noted that at the meeting, residents were able to review and discuss the Draft Scope for the DEIS, which includes a description of the proposed project, potentially significant adverse impacts, initial identification of mitigation measures, and reasonable alternatives to be considered. The Councilman added that the public is invited to provide comments on the Draft Scope. Written comments will be accepted until July13 and should be directed to the Department of Environmental Resources, 150 Miller Place, Syosset NY 11791, to the attention of John Ellsworth; or emailed to email@example.com.
