Town to Host Battle at Bethpage VI on April 20 at Bethpage HS

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today announced that the Town will once again play host to two of the biggest names in collegiate lacrosse as Duke University take on Marquette University at the Battle at Bethpage VI. The game, which will take place on Saturday, April 20th at 11am at Bethpage High School, located at 10 Cherry Avenue in Bethpage will feature two Division I Men’s college lacrosse powerhouses, and will benefit both the Bethpage Educational Foundation and Island Harvest.

“Lacrosse is strongly woven into the fabric of Long Island and here in the Town we are proud to partner with the Bethpage Educational Foundation and the Bethpage School District to provide our residents with the unique opportunity to see two of the biggest names in collegiate lacrosse clash right in their backyards,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Duke and Marquette are known for their academic and athletic excellence, so this is sure to be a hard-fought game. I believe that seeing these premiere teams in action may inspire the Town’s young lacrosse players to further their education through athletics.”

General admission tickets to the Battle of Bethpage will be available on April 6th from 9am to 12pm at the Bethpage High School Administration Building. Proceeds from the game will go to the Bethpage Educational Foundation, Inc. with donations for adults costing $10 and Children 12 and under will be $5. Attendees are also being asked to bring two cans of food to help support Island Harvest as part of the “LAX Fights Hungers” initiative.
