Town Announces Employment Opportunities Working with Special Needs Children and Adults

Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Steve Labriola today announced that the Town is accepting applications from experienced individuals interested in working as Activities Specialists at the Town of Oyster Bay Group Activities Program (GAP) Summer Day Camp, which provides a unique social-recreational experience for developmentally disabled town residents in a well-supervised setting over the course of six-weeks.

The job entails working with special needs children and adults aged 5 – 21. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree as well as 1,600 hours of experience working with special needs children and adults. Employment opportunities are located at Marjorie R. Post Community Park, weekdays from July 1st through August 9th, from 9:45am to 3:15pm. Applicants should contact Program Director Mary Hurst at (516) 797-7948.
