Saladino Announces Free Girls Youth Hockey Clinics

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today announced that the Town will run two free girls youth hockey clinics this winter as part of the Town’s Youth Ice Hockey program.  The clinics will take place at the Town’s Ice Skating Center in Bethpage, located at 1001 Stewart Avenue, and will take place on January 17th and February 7th, from 7 pm to 8 pm.

“The Town of Oyster Bay’s Youth Ice Hockey Program is one of the best games in town, and features many respected coaches dedicated to teaching this outstanding sport to the many boys and girls enrolled in the program,” said Supervisor Saladino.  “For the first time, the Town will be offering a free youth clinic dedicated solely to girls who are looking to sharpen their skating and hockey skills.  These are great clinics for our youth!”

Girls who attend the clinics will get the unique opportunity to hone their skating and hockey skills as part of a program that has earned recognition by the National Hockey League for its high level of quality.  Clinics will be coached by the Town’s Youth Hockey House League coaches. All ages are welcome.  All participants must be wearing standard hockey equipment, and should have some skating ability.  No prior experience with hockey is necessary for attendance.

No registration is necessary for either clinic.  For more information about the clinics and the Town’s Youth Hockey program, please call Buzz Deschamps at (516) 433-7466, x8233.
