•The John F. Kennedy Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary at TOBAY
Free for all residents and non-residents. The sanctuary is a 550-acre stretch of protected wetlands. It is open year-round, but visitation hours are limited during June, July and August until after 6PM. A permit is required, which may be obtained through the Beach Division. REPLACEMENT BEACH STICKERS


Returned leased vehicle:
Before returning your vehicle, please remove the sticker from the vehicle and place the pieces in a safe place. Bring your new vehicle with the same license plate and the original sticker to the location you purchased it from and they will issue you a replacement.


Long term vehicle repairs or accident:
You must bring the following documents to the Beach Division for a temporary pass;
• Letter from mechanic stating the vehicle is currently in their possession, anticipated time of completion, and identifying the vehicle by make, model, and license plate
• Photo of the sticker on the vehicle
• Information for temporary vehicle


BUS PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE

Non-profit organizations based within the Town of Oyster Bay: $150.00 per bus, per season
(Proof of non-profit status, such as 501c, required.)
All other organizations based within the Town of Oyster Bay: $150.00 per bus, per day
The following guidelines pertain to the issuance of bus permits:
• Organizations must have a minimum of 75% of participants residing in the Town.
• Permits are limited to Mondays thru Thursdays, except for Holidays.
• One camp/organization permitted per day, for TOBAY Beach. All permits issued on a first-come, first-served basis.


NIGHT SURF FISHING PERMIT


These permits are free for all Town of Oyster Bay residents looking to fish at a Town of Oyster Bay beach between the hours of 7PM and 7AM. All individuals must have a NYS Fishing License to obtain a night fishing permit.

Night Fishing permitted at the following locations:

From January 1st to December 31, 2020:

        Harry Tappen Beach, Glenwood Landing

        Theodore Roosevelt Beach, Oyster Bay

        Centre Island Beach, Bayville

From April 1st to December 12, 2020:

        Harry Tappen Beach, Glenwood Landing

        Theodore Roosevelt Beach, Oyster Bay

        TOBAY Beach, Massapequa

A permit can be obtained by mailing in the application or by visiting the Beaches Office. Please provide NYS Fishing License number and vehicle registration information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


How do I obtain a seasonal beach sticker?
Bring the vehicle you would like the sticker placed on with the vehicle registration to the Beach or John J. Burns Park Boat Ramps.


Are seasonal beach stickers available for purchase at the Beach Division office?
No. Seasonal stickers for beaches are only available at our beach facilities.


How do I obtain a Senior Beach ID Card?
Senior Beach ID cards, available to residents 60 and older, can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office for a one-time fee of $30.00, plus $2.00 photo fee. This card entitles seniors to free seasonal beach and seasonal trailer stickers as long as they own a vehicle.


What if my car is registered to my job? Can I still get a sticker?
Yes. Special waiver forms are available at the Town of Oyster Bay Town Clerk’s office and at the Parks Department’s Beach Division. You are required to bring a letter from your employer, on company letterhead, stating that the company car is your primary vehicle, along with your proof of residency (tax bill, utility bills) and your driver’s license.


I have dual residences, can I get a sticker?
Yes. Just bring the car registration, your driver’s license and proof of residency (tax bill or 2 utility bills) to either the Town Clerk’s office or the Parks Department’s Beach Division to obtain a special waiver.


Can I obtain a 4×4 vehicle permit to drive on the Beach?
The Town of Oyster Bay does not currently allow any non-authorized vehicles to drive onto any of our beaches.
